Welcome to Chapter 6!
The setting for TLS has always been odd, in that it's Fantasy built upon the ruins of Sci-fi. This is a short account of how humans ended up colonizing Eote (name of the world).
The funny creature (Fulmar) narrating the story in the rather broken english is a Quintri, one of the native races of Eote. You might have seen a bit of them from the Boy who was King bonus comic. They are interesting creatures, with limited hive mind mentalities, which is also why Fulmar refers to himself as third person, as if he had used "I" it would have meant the Hive.
Incidentally, all Quintri are male, with the exception of their hive Queen.
And yes, in keeping with tradition, all chapters sort of start with a variation of the phrase "Our story begins".
